1 Day Until 2006

Saturday, December 31st, 2005

This is the last day of 2005. It was fun. I went to Metrotown and watched King Kong. It was good. =) I got Lululemon pants but I need them hemmed, so they’ll be ready in a week or so.

I don’t really believe in resolutions, because yeah, they’re kinda hard to keep. I made one last year. It only lasted a couple of weeks or so. Haha. I probably won’t make one this year.

Some countries/cities are already in 2006. Serena’s already in 2006, but when she comes back tomorrow, she’ll go back in time and… well, yeah.

I definitely wanna look more into business. =D It seems reallllly fun. I still haven’t finished reading The Wealthy Barber yet. I hope to finish it.

I think I’ll put down some of my goals for 2006.

Goals for 2006:

Stay Organized

What I mean by that is to like, put clothes back in the closet or drawer right away. Don’t just leave it sitting on the bed.

And also at school, say, in my locker, and keeping my binders organized and being able to find things easily.

Don’t Procrastinate

Heh heh. Sometimes I procrastinate if I’m lazy and stuff, but I try not to. That just means rushing things when I actually decide to do something. If I have homework, then I should just do it before doing leisurely stuff. =)

Work Hard at School

I need to always listen in class, don’t talk/whisper to my friends when the teacher’s talking, and stuff like that. I need to continue to get good marks and get onto the Honor Roll. Also, part of this goal is to get onto the Principle’s List.

Those are the main goals I have for 2006. It’s usually the same stuff. Well, that’s about it for now.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

2 Days Until 2006

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Now that 2006 is coming nearer and nearer, I feel like I can actually have a “fresh new start”. I think I’ll make a resolution, but I’m not sure what it’s gonna be just yet. I’m thinking about the usual stuff: working harder, blah blahblah.

A bit before Winter Break, my friend, Serena, and I have been thinking a lot about courses over the next 3 years and even after Grade 12. We “decided” our courses for Grades 10, 11, and 12 already, and we both want 9 courses in at least 1 of those grades. The problem is, though, that the counselor said that there aren’t enough teachers so we can’t have 9 courses. She also said that she would go over everything with us, so hopefully, we’ll get our 9 courses.

If I’m not able to have 9 courses, then that’ll just ruin everything. I’ll (probably/hopefully) still have all the courses I need to graduate, but if I want to get into university and everything in the faculty I want, I might not be able to get all the requirements and everything. =( Also, for some courses, there are Prerequisites needed and if I can’t take 9 courses, then I might not be able to take some courses because I don’t have the Prerequisite. =( Sigh.

This year’s been one crazy year. Let’s see. I’ll go through from the beginning of 2005 to now.

January:
I was still meeting new people and making more friends, and I wasn’t totally and completely familiar with high school and the class changes and different teachers and everything.

I had made some friends already (from Odyssey) but wasn’t familiar with everything. I couldn’t tell them everything yet, because I only met them for a couple of months. We ate lunch together and laughed and talked, and it was fun.

I was doing okay for Term 2, but there were some areas that I wasn’t all that great in: Math, Science. I hoped to improve but I got kinda lazy.

February:
I was more familiar with the people in Odyssey, and there were some group projects, so I got to know them better.

I think it was this month or maybe a previous month where Eric started hating me and then blocked me on MSN for like, half a year. xD But now we’re okay.

I got closer to some people and farther away to others. During some times, we hated one person, but then became friends with them again, and went on to hating another person. Now, everyone pretty much is okay with one another.

March:
Spring Break was for 2 weeks, so we spent Spring Break talking to each other on MSN. The load for homework wasn’t that much, and I can’t really remember when Term 2 ended, but it was somewhere around here, I think.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get onto Honor Roll. I didn’t do as good as I did for Term 1, so I motivated myself to work harder for Term 3, even though there is no Honor Roll for Term 3.

By this time, I talked to pretty much everyone and had a fun time.

April:
I remember the first day of this month, when I decided to pull a prank on my Socials class with the help of my friends. =) Socials was the first class of Day 2, and my friends and I usually got to class early. We got the student teacher to help us as well.

When people came in, dropped their stuff on, and left, we took their binders, textbooks, pencil cases, everything, and put them in a box by the front of the room. Even when people were in the room but not looking, we took stuff. Anything we could, we took it and stashed it inside the box.

Later, the people whose stuff we’d taken would be like “Where’s my stuff? Did you see my glasses? Textbook?” Aha. It was hilarious. Then, the student teacher gave everyone back their stuff and they found out who was behind that prank.

It wasn’t a “great” prank, but it was one that we could sort of pull off.

May:
Nearing the end of Grade 8, I was quite happy, except for the tests and quizzes we had. Some of the time, the group of people would break up and have lunch with some other people, but then we all got back and ate lunch together.

June:
Ahh.. the last month of Grade 8. We had many parties but also, many tests.

I think I pretty much failed the Science final, which totally brought my mark down, but I’ll try harder this year. Everyone did poorly on the Science final.

We had a French party, Socials party, and a bunch of other ones. We watched movies, ate chips and popcorn, and all that usual partying stuff.

For some reason, none of us were “sad” to leave our friends for the summer and say good-bye. We didn’t hug or anything, like we did when Winter Break was about to start. Maybe it was because it was only Grade 8. That makes no sense but who cares. Haha.

July & August:
The summer. Some people went on vacation while others stayed here.

September – November:
After the summer was over, school started all over again. This time, it was Grade 9! Many of us are in almost all the same classes and we do projects and things together.

Grade 9 was another chance to bring up my marks, get onto Honor Roll, all that.

December:
December was here again, so fast and quick, and nearing the end of Winter Break, on the last day, there were hugs. No one hugged anyone last year in Grade 8, but now people were hugging. It wasn’t strange, but it wasn’t regular either.

There were again, parties that were a lot of fun and we played games. On the last day of school, during lunch, we sat in a group (like always) and we sang Christmas carols. Later, more people came and we all sang Jingle Bells so loudly, the Grade 10′s were staring at us. It was really fun though.

Then, on the Saturday after school ended, Serena jetted off to China. She’ll be back on New Year’s though, so it’s all good.

3 Days Until 2006

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

It seems so fast that the year’s ending. Christmas whizzed by and now it’s almost 2006. Hopefully, 2006 will be a happier and better year for everything: school, weather (no more hurricanes, rainstorms, floods, etc. just all that bad stuff), and many other things.

I hope to work harder at school and study more for tests and everything. I need to get better marks and try to get onto the Principle’s List. PE’s kinda pulling my hope of getting onto the Principle’s List down, especially with such a hard teacher. I probably have the hardest PE teacher in all of the PE Department, or something like that. I’m glad I got onto the Honor Roll for 1st term. I need to really work harder and study lots for tests and quizzes.

As for the weather, it’s been crazy this year with all the hurricanes and floods, rainstorms, and everything. Hopefully, next year, the weather will be nicer and there won’t be as many hurricanes and floods and rainstorms and everything.

Well, let’s see. Today, I was supposed to go and watch King Kong but I didn’t cause I didn’t feel like it, so I’m going another day. My mom and I made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. We made them into really gigantic blobs and the first batch of them turned out to be really big, but it looked cute. Haha. The second and third batches were smaller. We could’ve made 30 cookies but we only made 22. If we cut the first 8 in half we would’ve made 30.

I was debating whether I should write late Christmas cards for my friends, which I would’ve given in the new year, but I decided not to, because it would seem really weird. So I’m not gonna give any of my friends Christmas cards.

Well, that’s about it. =)

Metrotown and Staples

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

Went to Metrotown and got a couple of things. Then went to Staples and got the posterboards and folder thing for Science Fair. Also got stuff at Superstore for Science Fair. Used the self-check out too. It was fun. Hehe. Used a coupon and stuff. So fun. Haha.

Hehe. Well, watching Friends right now and eating, so I won’t write much. Hehe.

Metrotown

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

The pictures that I took of bird footprints on my lawn when it was snowing got DELETED!
:`( My mom deleted them. =( She said they were just pictures of snow so she deleted them. Humph. I hope they can be retrieved from the recycle bin on the computer. They got deleted from the camera too. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I went to Metrotown with Mandy today. I got the vest. Haha. It didn’t go down anymore in price. It stayed at $125. =T Hehe. I got it anyways. Got 2 new pencils too and Mandy got a couple of small things.

I wanted this Dummies book but I’m gonna get it another day.

La la la la la. I want the pictures back. :`(

Merry Late Christmas & Happy Boxing Day!

Monday, December 26th, 2005

Haha. Yesterday, I had the Chrsitmas dinner. It was fun. I saw Lawrence. He can talk now and he’s sooo cute. Hehe. He was looking for me when I was upstairs. Hehe.

I didn’t go Boxing Day shopping today. I’m going to Metrotown tomorrow with my friend. I want the Talula vest. Hopefully it’s in the 2-digit now. I finally did my Current Events. Got that over with. =]

La la la la la. Well, nothing much to write about now. I watched Christmas with the Kranks. It was pretty good, I guess.

Hehe. Okay. Gonna do some other stuff now.

Day 11 of Gift Wrapping

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

LAST DAY OF GIFT WRAPPING! IT WAS SO BUSY! It was like WHOLY! At first, it was kinda slow, but then afterwards, people started coming with like 5+ gifts and it was just CRAZY. There was this one guy who had like 10s of millions of gifts and then he brought his own wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, everything. And he was all like “Oh. It doesn’t matter, as long as I get them wrapped and can identify him.” I wonder how much he paid. He said he knew it was in the $50-60 region. xD Haha.

I stood outside the booth giving people tickets and stuff. Sooooo crazy. I left at like 1:30pm cause Carl, this other volunteer, said that I could go cause the other people were already here, so I just left at 1:30. Carl knows my name now. O_o Haha. Before, like earlier in December, he was like trying to remember everyone’s names.

Aaron got to the booth at like after 11am. He said he slept in again.

I went back to the booth again at around 4pm cause I needed Jackie to sign my volunteer sheet. I was walking to the booth and I saw Aaron still there, still wrapping. Haha. I waited for Jackie to finish signing someone else’s sheet, and Aaron told me that they lost someone’s watch. :T Haha. I wonder if anyone got someone else’s gift. That would be so terrible. Haha.

After Jackie finished signing my sheet, I said Merry Christmas to Aaron and went home.

Tomorrow there’s gonna be a Christmas dinner. =D Hehe. I wanna watch Friends. And I want that Talula vest. The price went down from $150 to $125. Hope it goes down even more. I wanna get it at like the lowest price possible and I wanna get it when they have black and in my size. =) Hehe.

I get to see Lawrence tomorrow! And get a present from them! Hehe. =D I wish I could get a Metropolis gift card or something at like $50+ and then maybe I could get my vest. Haha. Okay. Gonna work on my story now.

Oh yeah. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!

Day 9 and 10 of Gift Wrapping

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Haha. Didn’t really have time to blog yesterday cause I went out for Christmas dinner. But I’ll talk about gift wrapping yesterday first.

There was definitely more people, and I wrapped more gifts. Went out for lunch with MT and MW. MT went to Superstore and we used the self check-out thing again. She bought a Coke. And then MW wanted to go into this clothes stores, something Skates and Surf stuffy. That’s where they get the Roxy and DC clothes. xD Haha. Never knew that. Then we went to McDonald’s and I got fries. After that, we went to the Food Court on the other side of the mall and MW got Minestrone with a roll and stuffy. MT and I went to find a spot and then MT went back to get MW. We were gone from the booth for almost like an hour. Haha. But it was all good. =)

Went to look around at shops after volunteering and then went home. I saw this Talula vest that I like but it’s so expensive. >.> $150. Haha. Hope it goes really really down for Boxing Day sales. =D

Went home, and then afterwards, went out for Christmas dinner. There was a cake too, and there were these little figures and plastic flowers and a plastic “Merry Christmas” stuck in the middle of the cake. So cool. Took most of the stuff home. I ate lots of crab. =D No leftovers. Well, there were the shells but nobody wanted to eat the goo inside it. Haha. xD

Came back, started to write some Christmas cards, but got lazy and went to sleep.

Yupp. Now on to today. There weren’t THAT many people, amazingly. It was kinda slow, but the people that came usually had more than 1 present. So… I guess you could say that’s… lots? Haha.

Aaron was supposed to come but then he said he slept in and then he was busy so he didn’t go. How odd. I sign him up for today and then he’s like oh it’s all good, and then he says he’s busy. What if he hadn’t slept in? Aha. Oh well. Who cares. He said he’s gonna be there tomorrow. Meggie’s gonna be there too, but I wonder if she’s gonna be there at 9:30. We talked bout it but not sure. I’ll probably just be there at 10. =)

For my break, I walked around and got a present. And then went to Starbucks and got a drink and a cookie. Yummy cookie. Haha.

Came home, watched TV, eat, blahblahblah. Worked on my story a little bit. I keep making different versions of it. Haha. But it’s all good. =]

Well, gonna do something else now.

Day 7 and 8 of Gift Wrapping

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

I forgot to blog about yesterday’s gift wrapping, so I’ll write about yesterday’s and today’s. =) Yesterday was a bit more people than the day before yesterday, but it wasn’t THAT many.

Michelle Wong was sick and left at 12:35pm to go home cause she didn’t wanna get anyone else sick. So it was just Michelle Tra and me and a couple of other girls. We made “gift bags” with spare wrapping paper for presents that don’t have a box. I didn’t know how to make them at first, but then this girl taught me and me and MT started making them. =)

MT and I usually take a lunch break at around 12:30pm or so. We usually just get ice cream, but sometimes I get McDonald’s or something like that. She had Purdy’s ice cream, as usual, and I had Dairy Queen: dipped cone in a cup. =) Yumm. Cept there was a bit too much chocolate so I threw some of it out. Too much solid chocolate makes me thirsty. Haha. xD

That was about it for yesterday. So, today. MW didn’t show up. She’s probably still sick or something. So it was just MT and me and a bunch of other girls. The booth was crowded cause these AE gift boxes just showed up when we got there. Haha. Jackie came later on and she was like O_o haha. She didn’t know where they came from either. Haha.

But anyways, MT and I went out for the lunch break again and she had the regular Purdy’s ice cream, and then we went to Baskin Robbins and I got ice cream in a sugar cone. Haven’t had a sugar cone for so long. It was always in a cup. Haha. xD

So yeah. Jackie dropped by at around 1:30 with some bows and ribbons or something and cleaned up and organized the booth. I wonder when she can sign my volunteer sheet thing. Haha.

I bet on the 24th, there’s gonna be like tons of people. xD It’s fun though. But then it goes up to like an hour wait and it’s like totally crazy.

La la la la la. Hehe. Nothing much to write about now.

Day 6 of Gift Wrapping

Monday, December 19th, 2005

I already got my 20 hours, but I’m still doing more. =) Hehe.

Today was again, boring. Me and Michelle were there and we were just fiddling with ribbons and bows and stuff. Everyone was, pretty much.

Michelle and I went to Starbucks and I got a cookie. Soooo good. Then afterwards, we went on another break, and Michelle got ice cream at Purdy’s and then we went to McDonald’s and I got fries. =P Then we went to Superstore and I got gum. We went to that self check-out. Soooooooo cool. We had to wait in line but it was.. cool. =D I wish they had it at the other Superstores. =(

There was this lady who came and she wanted us to wrap something and she kept saying that she’s in a rush. And we were like quickly wrapping it and before that, we told her that it would cost her $3 and then she was like “I’m in a hurry” and we were like wth so we just wrapped it. And then afterwards, she needed to pay and we told her again the it was $3 and she was like “Excuse me, but I’m in a hurry. Can you just give me my present?” and we were like wth so we gave it to her and then she ran off. So stupid. Well, we couldn’t stop her.

But yeahh. =)
