Day 5 of Gift Wrapping

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

It was sooooo boring today. There were a couple of customers, but there were also 10 people gift wrapping. So I only wrapped like 1 present cause other people were like wanting to wrap and stuff.

Me, Meggie, and this other girl named Diane were playing with the tickets. We folded them like zigzags and then we let them go and it flew all over the place. Haha. And then this girl was like “You have to clean that up right now” like she was the boss or something. = =

We went on a lunch break at like 1pm and we waited like 10 minutes at McDonald’s. I got nuggets and fries. Diane got… Filet O’ Fish and a Coke. Meggie didn’t get anything cause she didn’t have any money. I was so full afterwards but it was okay.

I got home and tried to make the Jam Thumbprint Cookies, but the dough didn’t come together. It was like this sticky guck, so I just put it into blobs on a wax sheet of paper and then shoved it in the oven. It took like half an hour to bake but it actually tastes good. I put some sugar on it after about 10-15 minutes of baking and it tastes reallly good. =) Too bad the actual Jam Thumbprint Cookies didn’t turn out. Oh well. I’ll try it again another time. =)

A week until Christmas!! Woo-hoo! Can’t wait. La la la la la. Bored, but I’ll find something to do. =)

Day 4 of Gift Wrapping

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

Today didn’t seem like THAT many people, until it got nearer to 2pm. We had a couple of times where we jsut sat and stood there, cutting bows so they looked fancier. I left at about 2:10 or so.

Before I went up to get to the booth, I went to this calendar place and I got the “The Far Side” Desk Calendar for myself. =) I’ve wanted that for a long time. Hehe.

During my break, I went to get ice cream and then I went to Hallmark and got 2 presents.

I hope I’m gonna make the jam thumbprint cookies tomorrow. =) I just need the flour. Oh yeah. And DMC, but I can just use a liquid measurer or something. Even though we shouldn’t really, but oh well.

I like listening to The First Noel now. =) Well, I like practically all the Christmas songs, but now, The First Noel is well, not best, but one of the best right now.

More volunteering tomorrow.

Last Day of School!!

Friday, December 16th, 2005

YAHOO! The last day of school before winter break! =D

French, we had a party. We all had to make cakes and pancakes and junk like that. Mine looked really nasty, but people said it tasted good. We sprinkled the whole thing with chocolate chips. AHA. I didn’t eat much of the stuff. Just some truffles, which were overly sweet and bitter. YUCK. Haha.

Science, we drank juice and ate donuts. =) Billy wanted a double chocolate one, but I took it first. And then afterwards, I was just like ok I’ll jsut give it to him. And then he was like so happy.

Math, some of us went to the Christmas Concert and some stayed in class. I went to watch the Christmas Concert, which I don’t think I should’ve done. I should’ve just stayed in class and did the Math test that I missed. >.> Oh well. Haha. I made it up after school.

English, we just did a journal and… Iunno. I forgot. Haha.

Yupp.

Science Fair

Thursday, December 15th, 2005

I need a title for my Science Fair. Hmm. Me and Savannah are gonna do stuff about measuring roots. We can’t really think of a name though.

Today in Foods, we made Jam Thumbprint Cookies. Soooooooooooo yummy. I brought the recipe home and I’m gonna hopefully make some couple batches over winter break. =)

We went skating today. I fell twice, but it was okay. The second time i fell, this guy was like “Omg omg are you okay?” and I was like “… yeah…” and then he put his hand out and he helped me up. O.o Aha. =]

La la la la la. One more day of school! Woot! Can’t wait until winter vacation. =) Serena’s jetting off to China =( , I have volunteering, and stuff like that.

The counselor was in Socials class today and me and Serena just ran up to her and asked if we could have 9 courses next year but SHE SAID WE CAN’T CAUSE THERE AREN’T ENOUGH TEACHERS!!! OMG! So not fair. >=( I want 9 courses. It’ll ruin everything if I don’t get my 9 courses for Grade 10/11. TT_TT Humph. But then she said she’ll talk about it like, step by step or something. HOPE IT WORKS! :’(

I’m debating whether I should use Times New Roman for homework or continue with Arial. Times New Roman looks more professional looking, but Arial looks nice too, just not as professional looking. Sigh. Iunno.

Should study for Math test too. =T

Beauty and the Beast

Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

The English 9E and I think 10E went to see Beauty and the Beast play today @ the Stanley Theatre. I thought Stanley Theatre would be like, a movie theatre or something, but it’s like so olden day looking. So cool though.

I thought the play was gonna be boring but it was sooooooooooo good. After the intermission, everyone was like “Omg it’s so good”. The guy who played Beast was ugly though. Ahah. He looked better with his mask on. xD Haha. Belle was good, and it was really funny too. =)

We took the 20th bus to Broadway, and then the 99 UBC B-Line bus all the way to West Broadway and Granville or something like that. We bused all the way back too, but I didn’t go back to school. I just went home. =)

During the Intermission, I was so hungry, and the lineup was endless, and all I saw on the menus were like, pop, water, VODKA, gin, blahblahbalh. Hahah. I didn’t see any food there at first, cause there were so many people lining up. But afterwards, I went back and saw that there was some food on the counters, so I lined up and paid $5 = = for a big cookie and some Belgium Chocolates. AHAHAH. So expensive. But I was so hungry. =T

So basically, that was it. =) Time for homework.

Urghh

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. There’s this friend who I was really close to like, near the beginning of the year, but now it’s like… we hardly talk much anymore. Well, we still talk on MSN, but we’re not as close as we used to be. =T

Seems like since Grade 8, there’s like all these mixed up things with groups and stuff. Like, one week we’d hang out with one group of people, and another week, we’d hang out with other people. So weird.

There’s another person at school who’s one of my close friends, I guess you could say. We decided and helped each other to pick out the courses that we want for Grade 10, 11, and 12, and possibilities of university and stuff like that. We talked about all kinds of things like what we wanna be when we grow up, what we wanna major in, where we’d wanna live, and things like that during volunteering. She’s done volunteering cause she’s going to China for winter break, and I just realized one thing: I’m actually gonna miss her. O.o Aha. It might seem weird cause, well, you should miss someone if they’re going away somewhere, but usually, I don’t like really really miss them. It’s weird. But I guess it’s just because we talked so much it’s weird not talking to her everyday? Haha. Iunno. I’m closest, I guess, to her right now, but who knows about like, say, next month or something. = = I hope we’ll stay close though. =)

I think her dream place is like to go back to China and live there. I’ve never been to China but I doubt that’s my dream place. xD

It’s weird at school. If someone gets into a fight, it’s like they don’t talk for a couple of days, but eventually, they end up talking again. Probably cause we’re all stuck together anyways and there’s really no point in being in a fight cause we’ll probably have to end up working with one another for projects and stuff like that. =T

Having friends who have more than 6 classes with you and that you hang out with everyday = not easy

You’d think it is, but it’s not. >.>

Hehe.

Yesterday & Today

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

I just realized that I didn’t post anything yesterday. So I’ll post about yesterday and today. =)

It was the regular day. French, Science, Math, and English. They were all pretty boring except for Science. In Science, we had a Physics Jeopardy to prepare us for the test on Magnetism tomorrow. >.> I need to study.

Well, that’s about it for yesterday. =T Today, we had our last class of square dancing! =D Hehe.

I made Shortbread in Foods. It was yummy and I got perfect. =D

In Art, we had to continue with the Peace Project. = =

In Socials, we had a sub and all we did was like read stuff and do questions and junk like that.

Tomorrow, I have a French Quiz, Science Test, and supposed to have a Math test but then I’m not gonna be there tomorrow cause I have a field trip, so I’m gonna miss it. But I’m gonna make it up on Friday after school. =( Haha. I wish it was an Omit. Oh well.

I FINISHED MY ENGLISH ESSAY! FINALLY! =D Haha. Took me long enough. = =

I need to color my Art Peace Project banner thingamabob. I’ll do that soon. I’m also gonna have a Foods Quiz on Thursday. The teachers just keep layering on the quizzes and tests before winter break. Sigh. Oh well.

Well, homework/studying time now. =)

I got a new printer!!!

Sunday, December 11th, 2005

My new Samsung Laserjet Printer =D

I got a new laserjet printer for Christmas! It’s a Samsung CLP-510. It has 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. It’s a color laserjet printer too. You can put 250 sheets into it and for black ink, it can print up to 25 pages/minute. For the color, it can print up to 6 pages/minute.

It’s so cool. The double sided thing is so cool. xD It comes out, slides back in, and then I guess the paper turns over, and then it prints the other side. Hehe.

Picture of the Day

Christmas Scene

I saw this picture when I was surfing the net looking for Christmas pictures. =D It really has… the Christmas mood. =)

One thing I noticed later on when I was looking at the picture was this: there’s a snowman and there’s footprints leading up to it, but the questions is: where did the people get the snow to make the snowman? Ahh? Haha. The snow’s pretty much smooth.

Ooh. Another thing is this: the lights on the tree are all multi-colored, but then on the ground, everything’s red. Like at the church, there’s no hint of red in the lights, but on the ground, it’s red. AHHAHAHA.

But overall, I like the picture. it reminds me of Christmas AND of winter. =)

Day 3 of Gift Wrapping

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

Another day of gift wrapping, and finally, more business! =D There was this one lady who’s like sooo rich. She gave us 16 presents to wrap, and it cost her $65, and she gave us like $11 tip. Sooooooo cool. Haha.

There was this stupid couple near the end of our shift who was like “5 DOLLARS?!” when he heard how “expensive” it was. Haha. But they paid it anyways.

Serena and I went to Superstore with Serena’s mom to look for the ingredients for the french thing. We couldn’t find almond paste or chestnut cream, so we didn’t get anything. We have to ask the teacher about it on Monday.

I also have to write down the notes to study for in Science. =T Test on Wednesday and I’m gonna miss my Math test cause I’m going on a field trip. T_T Oh well. I have to make it up another day.

Well, time to do homework or something.
